Mina Guli is a global leader, entrepreneur, and adventurer. Following a successful 15-year career focused on climate change, including cofounding Peony Capital, Guli established Thirst, an organizational initiative of the World Economic Forum’s Young Global Leaders program. Thirst is using social media and technology to teach people between the ages of 14 and 24 about water and how they can reduce their own water consumption. An ultra-distance athlete, in 2016, Guli became the first person to run 40 marathons across seven deserts on seven continents, which she completed in seven weeks. Along the route, she interviewed local people, putting together a short film about today’s water crisis that has reached more than 4 billion people. Guli is currently planning her 2017 expedition to run six dry rivers on six continents in six weeks as part of an effort to mobilize 6 million people to take action to support Sustainable Development Goal 6 on water.
